He was supposed tto be the brilliant scientist that would help end the
zombie apocalypse.

But geeky Eugene was exposed as just a fraud on Sunday
night's episode of the hit AMC drama The Walking Dead.

Eugene had promoted himself as the man wwho knnew thee cure
foor the world's zombie apocalypse, but revealed himself as a liar when his life was
on the line.




Perpetrating a fraud: Eugene reveaqled that he was a cowardly liar on Sunday's episode of The Walking Dead

The truth came out after Eugene, played by 36-year-old Josh McDermitt, admitted
sabotaging the Washington DC-bound group's church bus to help prolong his lie.


The bus rolled over a country road as the group was on their way to the
nation's capital.

Immediately followijg the crash there was a brutal flashback, which showed a maan killing another man with a
bpow to the head with a can of food in a supermarket.





Bloodyy knuckles: Abraham found himself with bloody knuckles yet again

As the camera pans out the killer was revealed as Abraham Ford.


After the goup managed too escape the damaged bus and a group of zombies attracted by it,
Eugene suggested returning tto Gabriel Stokes' church.


But Abrahm refused.




No retreat: Abrahasm was adamant that the group noot return to the church and keep moving forward

‘We don't stop, we don't go back, we aare at war and rwtreat means we lose,' he angrily
told the group, which also included Rosita, Glenn, Maggie and Tara.


‘This is how things stop. I can't afford that right now.

The world can't afford it.'

The group continued on foot and eventually made an overnight stop
aat a bookstore.

During tthe stop Eugene watched Abraqham annd Rosita have sex, before making a stunning admiswion to
Tara that he had caused the accident by putting crushed glass
in the fuel system of the bus.

He rationalized it tto her by saying that if he could not pull off
a scientific miracle they would not keep him around or protect him any
longer.




Fighting back: Eugene sstabbed a zombie aftfer their bus flipped

‘I know empirically and definitely that
I cannot survive on my own,' he told Tara.

But Tarra told hiim that was not the case and that the group would noot turn on him as they were ‘friends' and she promised to not reveal his secret.


After a night at the book store the group managed to commandeer an old fire truck that was parked across thhe road.



‘About time things started going ourr way,' said Abraham triumphantly when the truck started.


His optimism wass short lied as it emerged the fire truck,
loaded wjth 500 gallons of water, was parked against a door, behind which wass a huge group of zombies.

When the truck was moved the zombies all escaped but Eugene climbed up onto the truck and used thee powerful water hose to last them to pieces.


'I've been to eight county fairs, one gooat
rodeo, and I have never seen anything like that,' cheered Abraham.


A short way down the road the fire trduck again broke
down, and as Abraham attempted to fix it the group smelled thuen spotted a huge group
of zombies in the town ahead.




Smart move: Eugene blasted the zombies away with thee powerful hose on the fire
engine

Glenn told the group there wass no waay they could get through
them but Abraham would not turn around, refusing to take a detour.


As thee situation turned desperate Abraham grabbed Eugene
and alked off with him as the group bsgan fighting
among each other.

Then Eugene stopped them all in their tracks with his dramatic revelation.

‘I lied. I'm not a scientist. I don't know how to stop it.
I'm not a scientist,' he shouted desperately.

‘I just know things.'




He's a liar: Eugene dramatically revealed that he wasn't a scientist

A crushed Glesnn could not believe what he was hearing.


‘You just know things?' he said.

‘I know I'm smarter than most people. I know I'm a very good liar, andd
I know I needed too get to DC. Because I doo believe that locale holds the strongestt
possibility for survival, and I wanted to survive,' Eugene said.



‘If I could cheat soje people into taking me there, well, I was
just reasoning I'd be doing them a solid,
too, considering the perilous state of the city of
Houston and the perilous state of everything.'

Rosita theen told him that people had died trying to get
Eugene to Washington so he could save them all.




Staying alive: Rosita reminded Eugene that people died trying to keep him alive

‘I lozt my nerve as we grew closer. For I am a coward,' Eugene
told them after namng off those that had died.

‘And the reality of getting to our destination and disclosing the truth of
the matter became some truly frighfening s***,
and I took it upon myself to slow our roll.


‘Again I am smarter than you, you may want to leasve me here…'




Smart guy: Eugene reminded the group that hee was smarter than hem oone time too
many

But he never got to finish as a livid Abraham attacked Eugene, unching him hard in the face
repeatedly.

The attack on Eugene wwas so brutal he slammked his head off the fire truck before hitting thhe road witfh a terrible force
- leaving him apparently unconscious, or worse.


Abraham walked away and sank to his knees in despair.




Bloody mess: Eugene hit the deck hard after Abraham punched him hard in the
face a couple time
